Guitarist Gus G says Ozzy Osbourne plans a return to his solo career, even after the huge success of his Black Sabbath reunion.

“Ozzy wants to do another solo album, that’s for sure,” Gus G tells Noisefull. “As far as I know he has a contract for three more solo albums, so I don’t know when he will finish them, if he’ll do them and if I’m going to be a part in it, but I certainly know that he wants to do one more solo album.”

Born in 1980 in Greece as Kostas Karamitroudis, Gus G replaced Zack Wylde in 2009 as Osbourne’s solo guitarist. His most recent studio collaboration with Osbourne was 2010′s more experimental ‘Scream’ album. With Osbourne on tour with Black Sabbath through June 29, however, a possible timeline for the follow up remains unclear.

“When is it going to happen, I don’t know, because these are his decisions, [Osbourne manager and wife] Sharon’s and the whole management’s,” Gus G adds. “Now, Black Sabbath have great success and I’m very glad they did this comeback, so we’ll be waiting.”

In other news, Osbourne will be honored as part of the 10th annual MusiCares MAP Fund benefit on May 12 in Los Angeles. He’s being recognized with the Stevie Ray Vaughan Award, which recognizes support for the fund and a commitment to helping others through addiction recovery.

"Scream" was probably his best album of the 00s imo, but still a far cry from his classic stuff. I think I listened to it for a week and never since. I know myself, I will check out anything he releases, but I also know it'll probably end up collecting dust on my shelves after a while.
