A month after Foreigner leader Mick Jones hinted at original band members joining the current lineup onstage for more shows, they’ve announced that the two groups will perform together at the final two concerts on their 40th anniversary tour.

Singer Lou Gramm, drummer Dennis Elliott, keyboardist Al Greenwood, guitarist Ian McDonald and bassist Rick Wills will join guitarists Jones, Tom Gimbel and Bruce Watson, singer Kelly Hansen, bassist Jeff Pilson, keyboardist Michael Bluestein and drummer Chris Frazier during Foreigner’s Oct. 6 and 7 shows at Michigan’s Soaring Eagle Casino & Resort.

The two lineups performed back in July, marking the first time since 1980 that most of the members have been onstage together. That spark seemed to invigorate Jones, the current lineup’s only original member, who last month called the reunion “great adrenaline and very enjoyable. I think there’s no bad apple anywhere in the whole thing, so I can’t see any big problems.”

“Playing alongside Lou, Dennis, Al, Ian and Rick again certainly brought back some special memories, and we decided it would be the ultimate celebration to join together on one stage, and give the fans the best possible farewell to our 40th Anniversary,” Jones says in a press release announcing the reunion shows.

Foreigner have been on the road celebrating the 40th anniversary of their self-titled debut album since May. The band will resume normal tour dates in mid October with a series of shows in Canada. You can find more info about the 40th anniversary tour finale concerts at the venue’s website.
