This pleases me!! Wishmaster is still my favourite album by Nightwish.

Wishmaster and Ocean Born are amazing albums. I had the privilege of seeing Nightwish right after the release of Once and they were truely incredible I would be extremely happy if Nighwish were to return to their earlier style w Flo Jensen at the helm. I've seen Flo live open for Iced Earth and she is aVery gifted vocalist. Not that I think anyone will truely top Tarja but she is a resecptable and suitable replacement. No disresept intended toward Annette but she just did not suit the band IMO.

Agreed :grinthumb The thing about Floor's vocals is that she can do a brilliant job with both the Tarja and Annette songs as she has such a versatile voice.

Definitely, she is a very gifted vocalist. She was the stand out by far in her band Reamp.
Great stage presence. Nightwish gives her a chance to really shine. I can't wait for the newrelease and the subsequent tour. Again not meaning to disresept Annette or her fans but this Is what I have been waiting for since Tarjas departure.

^^ Don't forget After Forever! They used to be one of my favourite female fronted metal bands!

As for Anette, I'm not a huge fan of hers, but I think she did the best she could with Nightwish and I really enjoyed her solo album, but she was never the right person for Nightwish. Floor is the perfect choice, but from an egoistic point of view, I would have preferred if she had not joined Nightwish, mainly because I’m a huge fan of hers, but not so much of Nightwish (except their first album)

The reason I mention Reamp over After Forever is due to the fact that I just saw them open for Iced Earth and Sabaton in May.

There's no other band that has had 8 albums in a row continuously improve upon the previous one. I'll interested to see if Nightwish can pull this off.... at least in my view.

For me, Dark Passion Play & Imaginaerum were a step down from Century Child & Once.

Not a major step down, but the change in style to accommodate Anette took them away from the straight Symph. Metal I came to love them for.

Still great albums though. It's an amazing, talented band no matter who's singing.

Yeah I've always felt the same way. By the time I'd encountered Nightwish, their split with Tarja had already happened. DPP was my first introduction to them and I enjoyed it alot. Then after I went back to all their earlier material and was amazed by how much the music had changed over the years. I like some of Tarja's solo albums but overall I never grew to like most of her stuff with NW. As for Floor, I've always been of big fan of hers and was extremely happy for her when they announced she was going to be the new front-woman. It'll be interesting to see how this new album will sound. Floor has a wide vocal range and can do all sorts of vocal styles. I mean, when Floor sings the NW songs, she goes from operatic to rock-style belting even and also growls in some parts. She did some very excellent vocal work in the Imaginaerum tour. So I wonder if we will hear all these styles in the new album. I just hope we get to hear a little bit of everything.

^ See, for me, the introduction was also after the split, around 2007, but before DPP had been released.

They might have found Anette by this time, but I heard Nemo on Sirius Hard Attack and that was it for me.

Nemo, The Haunting (Kamelot) and Heaven's A Lie (Lacuna Coil - I know, not symph. metal) were the first 3 "different" styles of metal I had ever heard and I've rarely listend to anything else since.

I grew up on 70's classic rock, and 80's rock, punk, metal, etc. The 90's didn't do anything for me, so I collected a lot of CD's in that decade, mostly of the older stuff I grew up with. But even that grew a little old for me at some point.

It wasn't till I heard NW and those others that I finally found a new style of music to love. I've bought just about every symph. metal band since then and a few other styles. I have around 200 albums in these "other" styles now.
