For me, it's George Harrison of the Beatles.

Of course, his work with the Beatles is superb. From his guitar work on Lennon/McCartney songs, to his own well-known songwriting skills, he truly was a superb musician with the Beatles.

Then, he went onto a solo career. Everything in there is at least listenable, even his experimental album to a certain extent, and his soundtrack album "Wonderwall Music" (which inspired an Oasis song). From there, his solo career really took off with "All Things Must Pass" and "Living in the Material World". In his mid-career, he's often panned as mediocre by the critics, but I like albums such as "Dark Horse", "Extra Texture" and "Gone Troppo", and he finished with a bang, with "Cloud Nine", the Traveling Wilburys and "Brainwashed".

Just excellence the whole way through from the Quiet Beatle :D

He was a very talented and unassuming guy Feldy. I only have "All Things..." in the library and the "Wilbury's".

I saw Ringo on television last week and he looks amazing for a guy 70 years old now,,,where has the time gone? I can't see either him or Paul without thinking of the loss of both John and George, it is too bad they never got back together for one last album, after all you have to let go of drama eventually and what they created was special...oh well guess I'll play one of their albums this morning seeing you've got me thinking about them.:D

^^ Yeh, both Ringo and Paul look great for men who should be in a retirement home :heheh:

Yeah, it really is a shame they never got together. John and Paul's relationship never really allowed that in John's lifetime, anyway :(

I definitely agree on George Harrison but I doubt that I would ever have to defend him.

Some people think George's solo work is lacking Annie, I have heard that before a few times, I disagree of course.

Feldy the tragic loss of John was just after Paul and him were moving forward, Paul visited him and they talked face to face for the first time in years, then John had to do some domestics around the house so Paul left. But they had finally started to mend their relationship, and really when John released Double Fantasy, that is as soft and commercial a record as Paul ever recorded.

I think they might have all enjoyed one last hurrah, and I'm sure we all would have loved to see it, as a One Of event, not like the Who's 5 absolutely last concert tours.(I might be exaggerating but they have pulled that stunt a few times already.)

Yeah, I know. It just wasn't mended quick enough :(

Oh well, the best we got was "Free As A Bird" and "Real Love" from the Anthology series, but they are good songs, even if they aren't exactly Beatles songs, but more Lennon songs feat. Paul, George and Ringo.

But anyway, yeah, the amount of times I have to depend poor George is sad. But I often find myself defending Ringo's career as well, and much more often :heheh:

MY NEW FAVORITE MEMBER!!!!!!!!!:lmao:

Petty and Dead... we have very, very, very similar tastes:grinthumb:bow:

lol.gif Thanks, man!

Well, A Petty and Grateful Dan fan only proves you have pretty good taste yourself! thumbsup.gif

But, I just gotta say...

Last DJ is the only one I can't listen to the whole album, it does have its moments though

''The Last DJ'' by Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers is one of my Top 10 albums from the last decade.

Songs like ''Can't Stop the Sun'', ''Money Becomes King'', ''Dreamville'', ''Blue Sunday'' and the title track, ''The Last DJ'' are very good tunes.

''The Man Who Loves Women'', ''You and Me'' and ''Joe'' are pretty cool tunes too.

And for a song with such a serious subject matter, the tune ''Lost Children'' rocks and kicks ass. I love this tune and album.

When you get a chance, you might want to give it another listen.

Ozzy! What else can he do wrong that he hasn't already done in his life. He had a great career, pleased tons of fans, and now it is time to leave the man alone and let him be Ozzy :)

His wife and family love him, and so do his fans...and that is enough for me to say he did what he had to do and now he is living clean.

I'm with you on this Magic.. Ozzy is a amazing guy.. I get a hoot out of watching him.. I watched that reality series and for the first time I got a chance to see the real Ozzy..
I read some articles here and there in High Times.. But I just think the guy is great and I'd trade places with Jack and let him be my dad anytime..:grinthumb
