So, I got myself a new toy its called a Zoom R8. I just picked it up 2 days ago and I'm trying to get comfortable with using the product. Very cool toy and can't wait to hook up my guitar(s) and try and record some shit! :oyea:

Anyone have any experience with the R8,R16, Or R24? Any tips would be greatly appreciated.... :cheers2

Looks like a nice unit, I have no experience with this one but I have an older Tascam eight track that can burn a CD. Its a great option to have. Enjoy.

I've long wanted to pick up something like this, but just haven't ever allocated the resources to do it. Over the years, my guitar playing has dwindled to nearly nothing. I think I'd need to spend some money on getting at least one of my electrics restored (neck is a bit warped and in dire need of an expert luthier) :(

Anyway, enough about me. You've had it for a couple of weeks now. Let us know what you think of it.

Sweet.. :grinthumb Another here who hasn't bought a toy such as that R8 but looks like it has some nice features.. A sampler is always fun and you have two inputs so looks like you can have someone play along while you record.
The Hollow Body is nice.. Is it a gretch or Gibson?? not sure since I know nothing about Hollow.
A kid just traded me a Hollow Body over the weekend for one of my Basses.. It's a Harmony Riff and a beautiful candy apple red finish with gold hardware..
Makes for a nice decoration on my wall..:heheh:
Good luck with the new toy!!

I have seen a few Anthrax members pitch these ZOOM devices on you tube, and they look pretty cool. Also interested to hear from you how it works.

For those that posted with general interest. The Zoom is a very cool tool that I have enjoyed very much so far. I have the Zoom plugged into my Line 6 Amplifier for playback (Don't have the $$ for real Monitor Speakers). The product can be a little overwhelming at times, but I really am taking my time and learning as I go as well as learning from youtube videos.

I have kept it pretty simple so far...I have 2 guitars (1 acoustic,1electric). I have recorded both and to be quite honest I enjoy the acoustic more right now,but I could see that changing as I get more and more comfortable with the effects, etc. Its a very small useful product that I can easily fit into a backpack and take it with me to a friends house and record quite easily the jam session from that evening.

You can record 2 multitracks simultaneously and playback 8 tracks simultaneously. It comes with software Cubase and you can plug the zoom into your laptop or desktop and adjust everything from volume to gain, etc.

The zoom has 2 built in mics, so its very easy to record songs, poems, thoughts, etc. It also has over 140 types, and 350+ patches for guitar amps, preamps, and I could go on for ever. Its got some cool effects that make your guitar sound like legends like (Jimi,SRV,EVH,Slowhand, etc)

I will be the first to admit, I'm no where close to experiencing all that the ZOOM has to offer...but I'm having a great time trying.

P.S. Slipnn2Darkness...I have 2 guitars (1 acoustic Fender and 1 Semi hollow body Epiphone DOT (Cherry)

I have included a picture of each...sorry if they are too big or too small

:cheers2
