^^I can agree with you on that Billy...but I didn't have any lofty expectations concerning another Boston album in the first place.

Short answer you can't...not in my opinion anyway his voice was the signature sound of Boston.

Funny Scholz sued a bunch of people/reporters(?) when they insinuated that Delp committed suicide because Scholz kicked him out of the band. But Delp's family definitely felt it had a lot to do with his depression and the tragedy that followed.

I cannot get into the new Steve Hillage album, Phoenix Rising, recorded under the System 7 name and in collaboration with Rovo. I read that it was a return to his seventies style, but it still has the dreaded dance-y feel and Rovo's two drummers are noisy and messy. Worst of all there are no strong bass riffs. It seems that Ozric Tentacles are more Steve Hillage than Steve Hillage these days.

I think the artwork is great and I'll listen for a bit longer. He deserves a chance, but I have a feeling this is not for me.

Another album I'm struggling with is Paul McCartney's New. Usually, I'm among the first to leap to his defence, but this is not working for me.

I bought one of his albums decades ago and to this day it would make my top 5 worst purchases I ever made as far as music goes. He was good in Gong, solo not so much.

Fish Rising, his first solo album (but recorded with Gong), is one of my favourite albums. Salmon Song has one of the all-time great riffs.

No album can top the new Bullet for My Valentine for worst album of the year. That one is a massive hunk of shit that I know the band could do much better than.
Actually yes one can top it. The Frequency Unknown pile of shit from the Geoff Tate band.
