It's quite rare but the one genre that still actually kind of makes me feel guilty is that alt-pop-punk thing from the early 00s, probably because that's what was popular when I was a kid. I have to admit that I think Smash Mouth is a genuinely solid band. I don't know anything outside their hits but I think they do good work, Walking on the Sun always pleasantly reminds me of The Doors, particularly Waiting For the Sun.



I also think that song "Story of a Girl" is kind of great.



And then there's that Barenaked Ladies song. Great period song... X-Files, Sailor Moon, so much stuff that was happening when that song came out.

i must confess i really dislike the master of puppets album by metallica the only songs i liek are master of puppets and welcome home ( sanitarium) and those i barely like and every song on ride the lightning i absolutly love

I feel the same way. I used to be in a band that insisted on playing the title track. That didn't help. It's not terrible, just not my cup of tea.

Its a pretty overrated album. It is not the best thing since sliced bread like so many people claim but Ride The Lightning I agree is an absolute masterpiece.

At the time, I thought Young for a Day by Rouen (1987) was a good rock record. Now, it almost sounds like a typical eighties pop record. The album, also called Young for a Day and released on Virgin, is almost impossible to find. Apparently they reformed in 2012.
