Was reminded of this thread earlier today when I was playing my iPod on a train and after a while I (unusually for me) set it on shuffle.
Here's the first ten tracks that came up with my response (I listened to all of them without skipping):
1)
Tusk - Fleetwood Mac (Tusk)
Great track to start off, I feared something I wasn't that keen on might come up but I needn't have worried.
2)
Tangerine - Led Zeppelin (Led Zeppelin III)
My favourite of the five tracks from the 'acoustic' side of LZ III, great song.
3)
Poison Whiskey - Lynyrd Skynyrd (Pronounced 'Lĕh-'nérd 'Skin-'nerd)
Another quality tune.
4)
Communication Breakdown - Led Zeppelin (Led Zeppelin III)
Another Led Zep classic, four excellent tracks so far...
5)
Death And All His Friends/The Escapist - Coldplay (Viva La Vida Or Death And All His Friends) Mixed feelings about this track, on one hand I really like Death And All His Friends which I think is one of Coldplay's best songs
. On the other hand I've always found The Escapist to be somewhat boring zzz:
6)
Auberge - Chris Rea (The Best Of)
I don't play Chris Rea very often apart from a couple of tracks, this is one of the ones I like best though so nice to hear it again.
7)
With Or Without You - U2 (The Joshua Tree)
One of my favourites by them, a fine song.
8)
Another Brick In The Wall, Part I - Pink Floyd (The Wall)
Not used to hearing this out of the context of The Wall, but still excellent and emotionally powerful on its own.
9)
When You Dance I Can Really Love - Neil Young & Crazy Horse (Live Rust)
Love it - a terrific live performance of a terrific track!
10)
Family Man - Fleetwood Mac (Tango In The Night)
I like this song overall, the chorus isn't great and sounds somewhat dated, but Buckingham's rather nice guitar manages to make up for this.
I think I was pretty lucky, I got a few top notch songs and pretty much all of them were good, while four of the top five most represented artists on my iPod came up (the Eagles being the odd one out there for the record).
