Leslie West from Queens, N.Y.!!!

Love Mountain!

''Climbing!'' (1970) and ''Nantucket Sleighride'' (1971) are must have albums for any serious classic rock fan, imo.

Here's one of my favorite Mountian songs...

I've been a big fan of Mountain and Leslie West for quite some time. Always felt that they were very underrated and have been labled by some rock critics as the poor man's Cream which I never quite got.

Yep...kind of in the same way some people say Uriah Heep was the poor man's Deep Purple.

But, that's doesn't bother me...Love Cream, Mountain, Uriah Heep and Deep Purple.

Most rock fans know the deal -- it's all GOOD! :grinthumb

I love the WEST, BRUCE & LAING albums also and THE LESLIE WEST BAND album.

Favourte albums is hard to say but i like the 'studio side' of FLOWERS OF EVIL and also MOUNTAIN AVALANCHE and TWIN PEAKS the live album.

WHATEVER TURNS YOU ON from 1973 featuring-

Leslie West, Jack Bruce & Corky Laing

1.BACKFIRE

3.SIFTING SAND
4.NOVEMBER SONG
5.ROCK & ROLL MACHINE

Bands don't make albums like this one anymore, theres nothing that special about it really but it's just a solid ROCK album with some good songs on it that tend to linger in your mind long after the cd has finished...

Great chord sequence on Tired Angels.

I wasn't sure about the second album after first listen, but now it's growing on me.

I just started getting into MOUNTAIN a few years ago after reading about them here in couple threads and coming across the first four at a used vinyl shop. Snatched those up for a 20 dollars total and have been in love with Leslie and. company ever since.

Absolutely diggin' these guys and they have become one my favorite hard rock American acts from that birthing era of heavy...the mighty 70s. I just bought the first four plus the 2 live albums The Road Goes Ever On & Twin Peaks on CD. Most were only around 7 dollars @ amazon...what a steal!

Anyway , now looking to get the stuff with Bruce & Laing and Leslies solo debut that bares the Mountain moniker.
