I've been a big fan of Mountain and Leslie West for quite some time. Always felt that they were very underrated and have been labled by some rock critics as the poor man's Cream which I never quite got. Leslie West has also been called a Clapton rip off which doesn't make sense being both men have completely different styles. Though Leslie is considered one of the best by his peers which to me counts.

I remember reading the newspaper the morning after Felix Pappalardi's wife shot him to death and was stunned. Despite being a talented musician Felix was also a top notch producer who of course produced the last 3 Cream albums. I have the Felix Pappalardi album Creation which Rolling Stone called the worst Italian/Japanese Coalition since WW II.

I've seen Leslie West live 4 times (once with Corky Laing) and he always puts on a great show.

Here's a pretty amusing video featuring Leslie West and Zakk Wylde

Taunta (Sammy's Tune)/Nantucket Sleighride to Owen Coffin (on the second band album) is an utterly fantastic track.
