Aside from their first hit, Pictures of Matchstick Men, I can't think of any other song this band did that wasn't a covertrack of someone else's work. *shrug*

I don't think they ever really did much here in the U.S. so that could be part of why I don't think a lot of people know much about them (again, from a US-standpoint).

^^^ They have always had a fairly large following here probably due to the many British migrants and they have toured here regularly since the 70's.

Did very little in the US - barely released any albums, often decades between tours. There is a story they were supporting Aerosmith in the States in the mid 70's, around 75 and were annihilating them every night, so Aerosmith kicked them off the tour. Quo would have been in full flight and unstoppable around then. Could be bullshit though.

Check out these tunes: Roll Over Lay Down, Paper Plane, Forty Five Hundred Times, Slow Train, Backwater / Just Take Me

For me it's The Breeders. They only had a brief moment of success, and it was for one of their most mediocre albums! So frustrating. Pod and Title TK are two of the most perfect albums ever made, just brimming with tasty flavorful riffs, emotive vocalizations, and rich organic production. They really struck a balance between being catchy and engaging without losing their abstract qualities.

Massive BOC fan myself.:D

And nice to see Max Webster and The Tubes mentioned by Runtfan.

I think Little Feat is perennially overlooked, their early catalog is excellent. For those fans who don't know about them, check out "Waiting for Columbus" has to be one of the top ten best live rock albums ever done.
