Let's see - the Yardbirds (I think the very most underrated band - cmon any band that brings up Clapton, Jeff Beck, and all of Led Zeppelin has to be great), Cheap Trick (I'd say the second most underrated band), Travvelling Wilburrys (third most underrated band), BOC, YES, and ELO

Guitarplayer1989, you have very good taste for someone so young. by the way we were born on the same day. A (few) years apart. You hit most of the ones I would have put as underrated and I agree with CONCERTBLAST about J. Geils Band, I've sen them live and they were incredible, especially Magic Dick on the harp. I would also add The Outlaws, the Kentucky Headhunters and Dire Straits. All have outstanding guitar work live.
