I saw them in concert several times and always put on an outstanding show

Yeah, I saw them in April 1978, when they were still doing their laser show (lasers were banned in concerts shortly afterward)...fantastic visuals and a top notch performance. That night's show wound up as part of their 'Some Enchanted Evening " live album.

+1...very true. The Small Faces are my favorite "underrated band", for sure.

Jefferson Airplane are quite underrated

If anything involving Airplane was underrated, it was probably when they morphed into Starship with new musicians in the fold and proceeded to take a beating by critics and longtime fans for recording a bunch of pop music in the 80's.
