Totally agreed with this, especially QMS part. They were so talented and brilliant, too bad they got overshadowed by Grateful Dead, Jefferson Airplane and Big Bro & Holding Company.

Critics: Warren Zevon, the New York Dolls
The public at large: the Velvet Underground, Captain Beefheart, the Stooges, and pretty much everything that's not Led Zeppelin, AC/DC, or Pink Floyd
People on this board: Bob Dylan
Overall: Probably Warren Zevon; he was such a gifted lyricist and musician, it's a shame that he never gained much attention outside of 'Werewolves of London'.
