I'll never forget talking to someone on a Moody Blues Usenet group, who preferred Mikes Solo version of One Step Into The Light. Having listened to the first 15 seconds of it, I decided I prefer the Moody Blues Cover.

Actually I'm unsure if Cover is the right word when I talk about the Moody Blues version. My Dad followed the Moody Blues in them early days (apart from Mk1) and after Seventh Sojourn album collected their Solo projects in the 70s. The Promise he collected on Vinyl and Cassette and back then One Step Into The Light wasn't on it, that album I think came out in 1976, so perhaps it was only a WIP which was added later as a bonus track, though by the time Octave came out he was ready to release it?
