Metallica doing a 3D movie?

I am not sold on 3D anything...like Sweaty a Blu-Ray would suffice. As George reminded me you need a really big television to justify 3D at home anyway, and plasma would be better than LCD(LED) because it offers a far wider viewing area.(And are more expensive and heavier as well)

So count me out, I would rather spend the money on vinyl records anyway.

I agree, there will be something to replace 3D anyway, 3D was introduced years ago and didn't really do anything, it is a passing phase IMO. At least Blu-Ray is worthwhile.

Sounds like this is a project destined to fail, like 80% of what Metallica tries to do these days.

From what I've read it's not just going to be concert footage, it's been hinted that it may be in a similar vein to Zeppelin's The Song Remains the Same, with added fantasy elements.
