Melanie (Official Thread)

I wanted to start a thread on Melanie (Safka) and though I know she started in 68-69 and played at the Woodstock festival I feel she is primarily known as being a 70's artist.

Again..opinions,praise,photos,fave moments...

One of my favorite classic female artists.

Also it was in my opinion that she had a huge influence over Stevie Nick's style all the way up to female artists of today. Alanis Morissette being one of many.

Listening to leftover wine now, she really has got a powerful voice! I'll definitely be getting some of her music. The last two minutes of the song are awesome, reminds me of GFR's Heartbreaker. You think it's slowing to a close, then they bust out another minute

EDIT: Just realised why she sounded familiar, Lisa Mitchell is pretty much a 2009 version of her:

I agree about "Brand New Key" ... Looking at the first picture that MP posted, my first thought was .. WOW .. she has the perfect look of the 60's.
