George Lynch says discussions have resumed on reforming the classic-era Dokken lineup, but he isn’t making any promises. “Of course, that comes and goes every couple of years,” Lynch tells Glide, “so who knows. But we’re talking again about that.”

In the meantime, Lynch has been involved with other Dokken-related projects, including T&N which included Jeff Pilson and Mick Brown. Lynch says an album with Pilson, now a member of Foreigner, and Stryper frontman Michael Sweet is also possible – if schedules can be aligned.

It “has been on the books for a while but it’s just the logistics and the time constraints,” says Lynch, who recently took part in a separate collaboration called Sweet and Lynch, as well. “There’s only one degree of separation between those two bands. I’m even getting confused,” he added, laughing.

The most recent attempt at a Dokken reunion happened around an appearance by Lynch and Don Dokken on a 2010 episode of That Metal Show on VH1 Classic. Don Dokken continues to lead the eponymous group, with Brown and newer additions Jon Levin and Mark Boals. Lynch had two stints beginning in 1980 and 1993, while Pilson was in Dokken twice beginning in 1983 and 1993.

Dokken, Brown, Lynch and Pilson memorably reunited for a two-song encore in 2009, performing “When Heaven Comes Down” and “In My Dreams.”

Talking is a positive step for sure, but I won't hold my breath.
