I've already asked this of a couple of the guys here, but I'm going to post it here too, in the hope that others may be able to help me out.

I'm basically looking for metal bands who do the 'beauty and the beast' thing in reverse, with female growling vocals and clean male vocals. I'm not sure if there even is such a band, but this concept has intrigued me for some time, and I think it would be a really cool and interesting thing to hear :)

The closest I've heard to what I'm looking for (cheers once again Harkat :grinthumb) is this, but although I really like it, it's not quite right; I want something where the vocals are split more equally, and with a cleaner male voice...

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, cheers :grinthumb

Sorry Pixel not my area of expertise...I'm not sure I've ever heard female growlers before.

Arch Enemy has a female growler/lead vocalist, but I don't know about male vocals. I'll take a look at what i've listened to and see if any of it will be acceptable to put in here. I know i've heard some.

I love Arch Enemy, but they only use occasional male backing vocals and these are growls too, cheers anyway though :)

The only growling I care to hear from a woman is in the heat of passion, otherwise, no thanks.

Good luck in your search though. :)

I Wrestled A Bear Once. This female can eat you and use your bones for toothpicks......her growls are that scary! My daughter idolized her. I haven't listened to their music enough to know whether there are clean male vocals or not but she also does a mix of growls and clean vocals.....

YES!! hahaha :oyea:
I love watching that band, Tastes Like Kevin Bacon has this funny video clip where the entire band just acts like idiots :****:
Magic is right, she has great contrast, akin to Michael Akerfeldt but more extreme. 1:10 is where the clean vocals start ... lovely to listen to IMO.
I can't say I remember any clean outright male vocals though ... they are used in the chorus though

an Magic, its "Iwrestedabearonce", just one word ^^
