Neutral. I like a handful of early cuts, but I'm with Aero. Achtung was when I lost interest.

I voted that I like them, but I have to admit that i'm a greatest hits guy with them. I really love about 20 of their songs, but haven't really dug any deeper then that.

I like them, especially around the Joshua Tree period. The early stuff was good, but a little raw. The later material I don't like very much.

Ahh that one! It's not a particularly fav compilation in U2 fan circles. The 80s and 90s Best Ofs are way better.

They also failed to really deviate much from a particular sound in each of there phases. After a few tunes on each album the schtick got tiresome.

Listen to 1993's Zooropa album. It sounds absolutely nothing like The Joshua Tree or Unforgettable Fire. Neither does 1997's Pop.

That's what I liked about them. New Year's Day, Sunday Bloody Sunday, Wire, Pride, and the like.

You know, before Bono cultivated his Messiah complex.

Yeah, their earlier stuff had a nice punk energy to it... or rather, post punk I guess. New Years Day is one of my all-time favs of theirs. Larry Mullen Jr. really used to hit them drums well back in those days! :D

Really like the early stuff like War and the Unforgettable Fire. The later peroid stuffs kind of iffy to me.

They never really did it for me. Edge is an interesting guitar player but the overall sound is kind of boring. They also failed to really deviate much from a particular sound in each of there phases. After a few tunes on each album the schtick got tiresome.

This about sums it up for me too. I'm pretty neutral on them. I do like a few of their songs but overall their music just doesn't move me.

I'd have to say my two favorite songs by U2 are Trying to Throw Your Arms Around The World and Bullet the Blue Sky.

I guess I’d call myself somewhat a fan (especially of their older albums). I own everything up to “Pop”, which I really enjoyed, but for some reason I haven’t bought any of their albums since then.
