Don't think I know any. Can you name a few of the better bands?

    Jap Rock Bands

One Ok Rock, GYZE & Gotsu Totsu Kotsu are my favorites. You can find lots of them by a simple youtube search.

If you're into more heavier, darker sounding stuff, then Dir En Grey is for you! The lead singer's voice and style is unbelievable. I'd check out the album ARCHE, from what I can tell it's like a representation of all their albums so far. At points it sounds like Opeth, Nine Inch Nails, Deftones.... but combined, it's unlike anything you ever heard, probably :)

    I'm from Japan.

I've been listening to Japanese rock and metal since I was a teenager (and that was a hell of a long time ago..) and was particularly involved in the 90s era visual kei subculture. X Japan was my introduction to rock and metal music in general. Saw quite a few bands live back in the day, including many of the Key Party and Matina label bands such as Missalina Rei, Eliphas Levi, Lar~Mia, Madeth Gray'll.

Also saw Dir En Grey back when they were called La:Sadies. Perhaps unsurprisingly, 90s Dir En Grey was closer to a glam metal band than whatever they are now haha. Garden was one of their big hits back in the day along with Cage.
