Musician and songwriter Leon Russell died in his sleep at the age of 74, according to a post on his official Facebook page.
Over a career that spanned nearly six decades, Russell worked as a solo artist, songwriter and session musician. In recent years, he teamed up with Elton John for the 2010 album The Union and released his final solo album, Life Journey, in 2014.
