Learning about rock music

Could anyone provide me with theory about different types of rock music.. like punk rock, blues etc? Like the chart that Jack Black puts on the board for the kids? The article on wikipedia is way to complicated.

^^Just google 'punk rock' and see what comes up. There are other better sources for information about music and artists than Wikipedia.

If that doesn't work for you, google "The Sex Pistols" they're punk rock legends even if I can't stand them.

Then look up "Robert Johnson" considered one of the founding fathers of the blues. Or B.B. King if you want someone more recent.

It's better listen band's music and check what kind of style they are playing.
