KISS vs. Guns N‘ Roses

I like both bands. AFD , Use Your Illusion I & II are all three Classic , IMO.
KISS on the other hand were a mini obession for me in the early days.
I still love the 70s output before they went disco droid and albums like Creatures of the Night .

My opinion of KISS is tainted by the fact that I was old enough back when KISS was at their peak popularity, I remember that every little kid in my neighborhood had a slobbering love affair with all the members of KISS, they were members of the "KISS Army", they played with their little KISS dollies, carried their KISS lunch boxes and KISS transistor radios. They all dressed up like KISS at Halloween, went to all the KISS movies. The fact that KISS pandered to the little kiddies turned me off so much that I hated them. To me they were a joke, and still are. I just couldn't get past the grease paint make up and the blatant commercialism. Kids will grab at anything shinny and glitzy and that's exactly what KISS were all about.

I apologize to all whom I've pissed off by this statement, but it's how I feel about them. I'm not a huge fan of GnR but at least they were a real rock band, IMO.
