Re: The Official KISS Thread!

The guy dancing around as Paul in the above video looks just like the guy who played his double in the Phantom of the Park!!:wtf:

Every now and then you find a youtude video that makes you go WTF!!

This is one of them....

O...m...f...g

I don't know whether to laugh, cry or vomit. :wtf:

On the plus side, this video was a reminder (unnecessary as it was) that Lynda Carter was F'ing HOT back then.

Re: The Official KISS Thread!

I gotta admit I've never been a fan. I could never take the group seriously because of the makeup. Before I saw these guys on TV in 1974 (on Don Kirschner or some other Rock Concert type of show), I was into some "serious" bands. Led Zeppelin ruled, Santana wasn't the same anymore by 1974 but I still considered myself a fan, and Chicago was on the verge of becoming a total schlockfest. Those three bands were the ones I worshipped. By 1974 I wasn't sure were any of them were headed. Then I saw KISS on TV and thought :wtf:.

I pretty sure if I heard all their classic albums I'd find stuff to like. But honestly, the only KISS song I've recalled ever hearing is Rock and Roll All Night. Never cared for that song so I've never felt any curiosity about exploring them. OTOH, if you would've told me 10 or 12 years ago that today I'd be buying Van Halen, AC/DC, Metallica, and Iron Maiden albums I'd have told you you were nuts. So there's hope I guess. :D

Vic, I'm one of the biggest Kiss fans ever. I've got nearly everything even remotely connected with the band (music-wise) meaning even when members have left the band, I've got their other projects as well. I've seen them in concert many times and .. well yeah.. the point is, I'm a huge fan. The point is, Rock and Roll All Nite is a popular, well known song and in all reality is really a rock anthem, but to be completely honest, it's one of my least favorite tunes by them. Don't get me wrong, I still like the song, but there are literally a hundred better tunes by them.

Their first four studio albums are fantastic: Self-titled debut, Hotter Than Hell, Dressed to Kill, and Destroyer... all loaded with great stuff. and of course as pointed out, their first live album, Alive! I'd suggest any of these albums to anyone, Kiss fan or otherwise.

KISS - NEW ALBUM IN 2011 & STICKING TO THEIR BEST TRACKS LIVE:
Rolling Stone Online recently attended a live Kiss show and the feature can be read at: Backstage With Kiss at the Hottest Show on Earth | Rolling Stone Music.
From with the feature, Paul Stanley is quoted: "Stanley said that the band plans to go back in to the studio next February and release an album as early as next summer, but in the meantime, Kiss are content to deliver a hit parade for the Hottest Show on Earth tour. "We don't want to fall into the thing where you have to play obscure songs," said Stanley. "I'm a big believer that a song is obscure for a reason: Songs that aren't as popular aren't as good."
Set List: "Modern Day Delilah" "Cold Gin" "Let Me Go, Rock 'N Roll" "Firehouse" "Say Yeah" "Deuce" "Crazy Nights" "Calling Dr. Love" "Shock Me" "I'm an Animal" "100,000 Years" "I Love It Loud" "Love Gun" "Black Diamond" "Detroit Rock City" Encore: "Beth" "Lick It Up" "Shout It Out Loud" "I Was Made for Lovin' You" "God Gave Rock 'N' Roll To You II" "Rock and Roll All Nite".
