I have mixed thoughts on this new album cover. In some ways, I think it's pretty decent. But when I think of all of their album covers over the years, this one almost comes off as lazy.
Use of band logo? check
Graphic artist-created album title image? check
Goofy picture of the band? check.
I dunno. I'm not like some people that were expecting something epic and iconic like the Destroyer album cover because they already took an old album cover (RnRO) and really cheesed it up as a cheap knockoff on Sonic Boom. I really didn't like that cover at all.
however, album covers like Destroyer, Love Gun, Dynasty, Dressed to Kill, Creatures, Lick It Up ... all iconic (to me) and this one just looks like it could have been the cover photo for the latest issue of Circus or Hit Parader.
I'm not complaining, it's not horrible (ie: Animalize, Sonic Boom), but it surely doesn't rank up there with the great covers either.

They should have left it to the fans......the homemade ones boy...some people came up with REAL good ones!!

One really cool one that I saw showed a snake-like or dragon-like figure and just had the Kiss logo above it's head. Gotta go see if I can find that one. That was pretty cool
