Who'd have thought KISS would sound so great when played by a 72 piece orchestra, right? :heheh: Glad to see that you enjoyed it as much as me, Sooty. :)

Black Diamond is a serious piece of music to begin with. I loved this classical rendition by Yoshiki when I first heard it. :grinthumb

Bless You.

Straight to ipod.

Oh, BTW, on a related note, I have Pink Floyd as interpreted by the London Philharmonic Orchestra.

No problem. :) I have to say that even though I said that that was my favorite KISS related piece of music I've definitely gained respect by the KISS fanboys of the forum, particularly Metal, for the variety I didn't know existed in their music including the different solo styles, etc. When I finally bought Destroyer I was surprised they had a song like "Great Expectations" which I liked a lot. :grinthumb

I guess I used to be a fan boy. KISS could no wrong in the eyes of this 14 year old.

Years down the road now, I'm not under any delusion that KISS is the greatest band of all time

Their songs are pretty basic, music wise. Although I will say this: Gene Simmons is a far better bassist than he's given credit for.

KISS never wrote any 'deep' stuff, musically or lyrically. 90% of their songs are about getting the girl, losing the girl, using the girl, longing for the girl, etc, etc.

How ever, they more than made up for those shortcomings with their shows. I've seen them 7 times (once w/o makeup), and I'm hear to tell ya, I never walked away feeling like been robbed. There's so much at their shows, you couldn't watch it at all once. They put on one heck of a show.

For all their hyperbole about their own greatness, I'll give them credit for one thing:

They never, ever shortchanged their fans. They spared no expence for their shows.

If a non-fan went to one, I don't think they'd become a rabid, hardcore fan, but I'm pretty sure they'd appreciate KISS a little more.
