15 years overdue. One of many overly deserving artists that has been sitting and waiting for far too long.

I didn't have a lot of faith in it happening, even with KISS crushing the fan voting on the Rock Hall website. Not sure how they are going to proceed with deciding who will be in the ceremony. If it was up to me, every living member of KISS should be involved, but I doubt that will be the case. RIP Eric and Mark for not being here to see this.

Other than Paul & Gene, the only other people that have been with the band forever are the fans.

They're always chirping about the fans coming first, so, yea, it'd be groovy if they could put all the personal stuff aside for one night Give the fans what they want.

Regardless of the length of any former member's time with the band, they all played a part in the band's history.

I totally agree Lynch, I feel all living members should be involved. I'm psyched & now I will have another reason to return to the Hall of Fame next year!

Here it is "Life in the Woods"...finally leaked out(it's almost a holy grail for Kiss Fans because it never made to their albums but early on in their career it was in their setlist as it's a leftover from Wicked Lester)
Personally, I like it but could understand why it never made it to an album(maybe a studio version would be decent but it's a bit too hippyish for a Kiss album imo). Peter drops an F-bomb near the end so be warned

Another Wicked Lester leftover tune from the same show "Simple Type" is totally reworked & sounds nothing like the Wicked Lester version. This also never made it to a Kiss album. These are probably the earliest live recordings of Kiss

20 years ago today, KISS played Makin' Love live on TV on New Year's Eve

Great track from the 70's that didn't seem to make any set lists during the 80's and 90's.

40 years ago today (Dec 31, 1973), KISS was added as a last-minute opening act at the New Years Eve show at the Academy of Music in New York City, playing a 30 minute set to open the show for Teenage Lust, Iggy Pop and Blue Oyster Cult

Set list consisted of the following 7 songs:

1. Deuce
2. Cold Gin
3. Nothin' To Lose
4. Firehouse
5. Let Me Know
6. 100,000 Years
7. Black Diamond

Here are a few pictures from that night. There is audio of this show floating around the world. Someday I'd like to hear it.

Two months later, they released their self-titled debut album and the rest is KISStory. ;)

Sidenote: Gene set his hair on fire during his fire-breathing act. Wasn't the first time or the last time that happened.

Very cool. Is Paul still 'The Bandit' in this one? It's hard to tell with the hair and the makeup smudges.

According to my Kisstory book, Paul states wore the bandit makeup for just one photo shoot and two shows.

He doesn't mention which two, but obviously this is one of them.
