ENGLEWOOD, Colo. – Motley Crue and Kiss are donating money to support those affected by the Colorado movie theater shootings.

The bands said at their concert in suburban Denver on Wednesday night that they would donate $100,000 to the Aurora Victim Relief Fund.

The fund was set up to help victims and families who were hurt when a man opened fire July 20 at a midnight showing of the new Batman movie in Aurora. Twelve people were killed, and 58 were injured.

Nikki Sixx of Motley Crue and Paul Stanley of Kiss said in a written statement that they hope their gesture will encourage others to give.

Very nicely done by both bands. Showing leadership and compassion, hopefully some other's do follow their lead.

Bravo!

Hopefully other celebrities will also kick in to help these people. From what I have heard on the news, there are still people in the hospital in critical condition..........

What a nice gesture. My respect for KISS just went up a notch. I hope the theater won't face too many lawsuits. People are too eager to go to court these days.

It's not the theater's fault, it could have happened anywhere.

The one thing that jumped out at me about all the recent tragedies of this nature is every one of the individuals was mentally unstable. If we all enforced our own laws which are on the books then there is a good chance quite a few of these people would have been treated or institutionalized and prevented the ensuing cataclysm.

Nice gesture by both bands. I heard that the discussion going on now is what to do with the theater. Some are saying close it down while others are saying that would be giving in to this kind of lunacy.

I was wondering about that myself, Mr. Bob. I think too many bad memories of what happened would remain if they kept it up. Or at least maybe take out theater 9, where the shooting took place. I will admit while I was watching the film a couple of days after this happened, I was a little nervous the whole time.
