They’re separated by genres and generations, but Keith Richards and Justin Bieber both know a thing or two about run-ins with the law and building bad reputations, so it’s perhaps unsurprising that they reportedly hit it off after a recent chance meeting.
ABC News Radio weighs in on the pop culture summit, which apparently occurred “at a bar on the Caribbean island of Parrot Cay in Turks & Caicos.” Spotting Bieber, Richards is rumored to have said pretty much exactly what you’d expect — specifically, “Who the f— are you?” Unfazed, Bieber is said to have retorted, “I don’t know, who the f— are you?”
That bit of witty repartee out of the way, Richards and Bieber are said to have spent an enjoyable evening in paradise, and although there was still a bit of jostling for alpha-male status — an unnamed source says Bieber “tried to bro down” with Richards — it all ended calmly, with Richards telling the pop star, “Let’s get one thing straight. You’re a wannabe.”
The new friends then apparently exchanged numbers, bringing a promising end to what Bieber may or may not have called “the best night ever.” If he ends up adding some guest vocals to the next Rolling Stones record, you know how it all started.
