Oh d@MN! That really sucks as I really liked Deen from back in the day with Bad English and Hard Line to the present Journey.

Like the rest of the posters here, and witnessing domestic violence first hand (my sister and her ex) I too have ZERO tolerance for that. No matter if the women provokes it, a man's striking force is devastating to a woman's body or face….there is no logic why any man would do that.

Years ago a friend I worked with had an argument with his girlfriend. I can't remember the details about what started it, but she got so angry at him she kicked him in the groin as hard as she could. He automatically punched her right in the face and sent her flying across the room. He felt ashamed afterward of course, and surprisingly they got married a couple years later. These kind of things always have two sides to the story, not making excuses or agreeing with what Deen did but just saying we don't know all the details yet.

A man should definitely not beat up on a woman, but it goes both ways. A woman should not beat up on a man either. It's done too often as well.

Wow....the "kicked him in the groin as hard as she could" just made me cringe. I do in fact take that back then... indeed LG.... there is an exception. Ouch! LOL

I agree there is that breaking point LG and there is somewhat of a double standard in terms of it being reported when women do it (happens a lot more than we realize). However, I will always stand firm in my belief that, unless you are literally in a corner and unable to get away, just walk away from the situation if and when possible. A little time away to cool off always helps. Violence towards anyone is not acceptable, but especially towards women, children and animals and the injuries are more than physical. That just makes me shake my head.

Violence towards anyone in general is just pathetic. It shows mental inability to sort things out in both a constructive and mature manner. When anyone has to or feels they have to resort to violence it just shows how weak they are as people.

Too right Riff! Some people just have uncontrollable tempers though, which is very scary. I have seen some nasty situations at work - mainly when alcohol is involved.
