You are right I disagree with your take on it, but if you are a punk rock band, then I stand by my statement and an album like AI is okay with me. It certainly struck a chord no denying that.

I look at it this way...

Iron Maiden is a metal band and so is Edguy

It's just a different year...why can't Green Day be a punk band...they sure are by sound and since they've started they always had an attitude that seemed honest enough for me.

Well that's cool...I think it depends on how deep one reads into something.

You may not be reading enough and I may be reading too much :heheh:

When did John Lydon last record anything relevant in the punk genre?

If he wants to show people what punk really is, maybe he ought to record something for a change. Perhaps that would just be too much trouble for him.

I thin Lydon's scared that the Sex Pistols might not be the first band think of when you say "punk" any more.

Here Lydon. Have this:

As for Green Day's career, I like their stuff both pre- and post-American Idiot, although if I had to pick, I'd choose post-American Idiot as my favourite. But both "eras" have their ups and downs.

I really love American Idiot. Definitely one of the best albums in 2000's. I also sometimes don't agree with the stuff they say, but it doesn't stop it from being brilliant.

Jesus of Suburbia is one of the most epic songs i've heard lately. :D
