Sorry I am so slow responding Groovy, just saw this:
For the completeist, Hornet's Nest is an interesting historical audio piece.
It is basically Jimi (called Jimmy here) backing up Curtis Knight and The Squires around 1965/1966.
He is also afforded a few instrumentals, Hornet's Nest (AKA: Kato's Special) being a stand out.
Hornet's Nest sounds kind of like The Flight Of The Bumble-Bee in parts, and it should be noted that in a lot of his later live material, you can hear Jimi working it into some of his guitar fills.
The studio tracks have a complicated history.

For first time listeners, I would suggest you go in with an open mind, as this is Jimi in his formative stages. The reward comes in hearing what will become an incredible guitarist once given his chance.
