I sure get the distinct feeling Martin and Ian have gone their separate ways for now and maybe permanently...:hm:

The last time I saw them Martin played this cheese metal sounding solo after which Ian Anderson said "That's why I write the songs!". It was hilarious but I could see where it might be hard working with such a guy if he was serious about that.

^^You are absolutely right Khor...and I've always wondered if Ian could take what he dishes out so freely to his bandmates...

Yeah, I thought it might be friendly ribbing but even there it was a little shocking especially since I wasn't the only fan that laughed out loud.

Imo, there's a lot of humour and friendly rivalry over all the TAAB2 announcements and the Martin Barre "New Day Band" concerts that I wonder if this is all a smokescreen for what may happen in the next year or two. I am still of the opinion that Jethro Tull will be back performing, perhaps in 2014 and that Ian and Martin need the time away from each other to recharge their respective batteries and to get things off their chests.

Like all good friends and collegues, time and distance make no difference to a friendship, it's the quality of that friendship that matters in the long run.

I hope that's the case Jeffrey...as much as I respect Ian and love Tull's music there is a good chance I would punch him out if he kept needling me...for 40+ years...:heheh:

The truth is LG that we don't really know. With the two opposing sides of the band touring I suppose the arguement is that the fans have got the best of both worlds but for me it would be much better to have Jethro Tull touring, with Ian and Martin in tandem, performing TAAB2 and Martin's unique interpretation of classic Ian Anderson songs.

Maybe I'm in a dream world but then I live in hope that one day we'll see both of them back on stage together.
