Just been looking through my vinyl gear to give the turn table a whirl and plucked out.

Shame it's not the gatefold with the pop up. I'll have to see if I can get hold of a copy.:D

^^ There is a bit of good story on that album involving Tony Iommi you might be interested in.

It seems he did a very little contribution on Stand Up. :D

That was a great read Nolo...the way all these old bands interacted was fascinating in itself and who ended up where and why always intrigues me.

I am not surprised Tony ended up leaving, Ian is going to be the leader of any band he's part of, Tull is his vehicle even back when they were starting out.

I had forgotten Tony's contribution to "Nothing Is Easy" and "Living in the Past"...two of my fave JT songs of all time.

I always laugh when I think back all those years ago, wandering into Kelly's Record store and picking up a copy of MU Volume One because a buddy I was working with was raving about Locomotive Breath....:heheh: Now I have every album Jethro Tull has ever released.:D

That's amazing to read Iommi's impression on being in Tull as well as the whole R&R Circus deal. I liked Tull's performance in that. Not sure what Toy meant by dated. I always wondered about "the hat" as well. Funy that Ian asked him to wear it. I was not aware of that. I also wondered why he never looked up during this program.

Good read!!!! :grinthumb

Really cool read Nololob! It answers a lot of questions about that exciting prospect. Although I really dig Tull (especially that era) I'm so glad Tony was uncomfotable enough to leave and give Earth another go. Instead of one fantastic version of Jethro Tull we have that and Black Sabbath.
The fickle hand of fate sometimes delivers.

An interesting time to be a Jethro Tull fan :grinthumb

First the announcement of Thick As A Brick Two and a tour on the back of it and then Martin Barre announces his own band "New Day" with concerts and some recordings as well and now we have a new German book being published in April.
