No audio.

BUT

There are photos of it that made it into the following HS yearbook, which unfortunately I don't have because I was already graduated by then and wasn't about to pay $45 to see a few cameos of myself!

That night I did Cum on Feel The Noize, Bungle in the Jungle and Aqualung from one of the karaoke guy's "rock and roll" discs.

So are some of my college karaoke sessions, which included a "barbershop quartet" version of If This Is It by Huey Lewis and the News, in which me and three other guys from my dorm hopped onstage to deliver the goods.

Re: Jethro Tull

Whenever I hear Jethro Tull now it takes me back to our honeymoon last May & driving round the beautifully remote Isle of Skye chilling to Tull. And when we visited Dun Ringill of course we had to play THE track :) I don't know whether Sox has mentioned this in the thread, but when were strolling down the lane to get on the track that leads to Dun Ringhill we saw a big house at the side of the road, called Kilmarie House. I remember saying to Sox I wonder who lives there. Later on we were browsing the interent and turns out Kilmarie had been Ian Anderson's home until he sold the estate in 1994.

Ian Anderson's old pad, Kilmarie House

Me at Dun Ringill

Calls for a bit of Dun Ringill me thinks :)

Re: Jethro Tull

Not being a huge fan, my main Jethro Tull anecdote dates back to when I was in high school, and no it wasn't a karaoke session. It is a true story, however.

I'll never forget sitting in shop class in 9th or 10th grade. The teacher was at least 10 minutes late, so most of the guys in class were sitting around doing nothing. A group of us were having a conversation about their favorite rock and roll bands.

Anyway, one of the guys says his favorite band is "Jethro Hull." That's what he called them. Another guy in the group was quick to correct him and point out the band name is Jethro Tull. The first guy got all offended and insisted, loudly, that he was correct.

The two of them go back and forth about the band name, each of them insisting they are right. The whole time there are four or five other guys in shop class that didn't bother getting in the middle of this, including me. One thing leads to another and these two guys end up in a fist fight in the shop room over this.

As it turns out, the person who was calling the band "Jethro Hull" won the fight quite handily, so it is quite possible that he has never been corrected to this day.

So if you ever meet someone at a party talking about Jethro Hull or if someone shows up on the forums calling them that, if you want a real icebreaker ask them about that fight in shop class in 9th grade.
