Hi there,

I've worn jean jackets in my time since I was a teenager, but thinking of creating one with patches of my fave rock bands.

Do people still wear theirs to rock gigs? The last rock gig I went to, I remember only seeing one guy with patches.

If it's rare, ain't it about time to bring it back in 'rock' fashion?

It's basically an "Underground Metal" thing these days. The "kids" have really caught on to this. Especially the "Thrash Metal" fans. They even hunt down the white high top sneakers.

I've had my share of them over the years. However, now that they are sorta "hip" again, I refuse to wear one. Last thing I had was a Military Field Jack, that was covered in patches. Sold it on Ebay for $300 a couple years ago.

I wear mine on my bike sometimes, no patches though. Turbonegro made a push to bring denim back a while back. Seems to be popular in Europe in certain circles. Whatever floats your boat. \m/

I wouldn't mind making one of those myself with my favourite bands for patches.

I had a Levi jean jacket which never wore out - it got too small! I reached a point where I realised I could no longer wear denim or have long hair any more. I wish I could, but you cannot turn the clock back. I remember a person at Aylesbury Friars, who had all the band names in their official (usually Roger Dean) lettering embroidered on his jean jacket. It looked really great, but I don't know how it was done. These days, there are computerised embroidery machines, but I don't think they existed in the mid-seventies.

I did not just have Levis jeans and a jean jacket, I also had a Levi denim shirt and denim waistcoat.

I never owned a denim jacket but I think it's a cool look, albiet a bit dated. Then again, I'm a bit dated.
