Seriously, though...

There's no way rock will die, as long as people listen to it, love it, and are inspired to make their own music because of it.

People take what they hear, and those things are the things they carry with them and show up, in a different form or interpretation, in the music they write.

That's why we call it the evolution of music.

At it's core, though, rock is there.

Good music back then, and it's still good now, but let's face it...it'd be pretty boring if everything put out today sounded just like everything from 30 or 40 years ago.

I pretty much agree with everything you have said here.

Honestly means nothing IMO. They r picking and choosing their words.

"Album sales" are easily decreasing in 2 year double digit percentages. even in the UK.

In this instance Rock has 33.8% of an overall market segment that is loosing 15% or more every 2 years regardless of the media

The sales of singles continues to grow. with electronic media leading the way

Rock music overtook pop in UK album sales last year, winning a bigger share of the market for the first time in five years.

Rod Stewart's Time was the best-selling album to be classified as rock by the Official Charts Company, followed by Arctic Monkeys and Bastille.

In total rock accounted for 33.8% of album sales, compared with 31% for pop, said industry body the BPI.

However, pop records still held the lead in single sales.

Some 36.2% of all single track sales were classed as pop, led by the likes of Katy Perry, Pink and Ellie Goulding...........

Rock accounted for 21.4% of singles sold last year. It was followed by dance on 16.1%,....

Exactly. I haven't known Rod to do a rock album since the 70s (really since Faces but I'm being generous).
