Cranky is good!
I noticed The Who have eventually succumbed to 'age'....sacking of Zak Starkey seems related to his criticism of Daltrey...
And Zak is almost 60 himself.......

Grace Slick once said..“All rock-and-rollers over the age of 50 look stupid and should retire.”
btw ...she'll be 85 in October

I have to agree with some of these remarks. Even recent attempts from David Lee Roth to excite a crowd are very disenchanting to see.
I would not like to imagine for very long, a scenario with Jimi trying to maintain anything close to his former image of a rock guitar legend and still performing on stage. I would rather hope that some ten or more years ago, he would be at peace enough to believe performing is not necessary. But no doubt he would have vices to feed and bills to pay like everyone.

In the "ROCK WORLD" Jimi Hendrix is forever frozen in time at the age of 27 years old when he 'checked out' and as passed into a ROCK LEGEND AS THE GREATEST GUITARIST THAT EVER LIVED!!. You and me shall grow old but Jimi won't.

The question always asked by his fans since his death is what would he have achieved in music if he had lived even for a few more years let alone another 60 odd years??.

Billy Cox is perhaps the only surviving member who performed with Jimi Hendrix, there's some interesting information on his Wikipedia page about when he performed with Jimi Hendrix and what happened after his passing. In there it describes material which Cox which was a part of which surfaced after Hendrix's passing.

Hendrix sure seemed to wanted to take more of a funk approach at the end. Had he lived, the likes of Rick James, Ohio Players, among others might have been overshadowed.
