GILLAN WOULD LOVE TO DO MORE WHOCARES
Brought To You By VH1’s Dave Basner
This week, WhoCares released the physical copy of their debut single. The band is made up of Deep Purple’s Ian Gillan and Black Sabbath’s Tony Iommi and the single features Iron Maiden’s Nicko McBrain, former Metallica bassist Jason Newsted, former Deep Purple keyboardist Jon Lord and others. The group recorded two new songs titled “Out of My Mind” and “Holy Water” to support the rebuilding of a music school in Armenia. So if the single does well, will the band record more? Ian let us know.
“Well if we ever got time, we have talked about it, yeah, to be honest, it’s a very appealing proposition, I like working with Tony, however, it’s all a question of whether we’ve got time because we’re up to our eyeballs with our current jobs at the moment. I never get a day off from Purple. If we get together, it will probably be next dream but whether it’s an album or whether it’s a couple other songs, I don’t know. It’s just a pipe dream at the moment.”
