If you could go back in time and get your money back on a show that you disliked and wasn't what you expected...what would it be???



Let's keep it fun and intersting and don't artist bash so much to the point that we take it out on each other.This is all in fun. You may even like the band on CD/Album ...but were appalled at the live experience. SO who let you down???I'm gonna start and say....hmmmm.....

BLACK CROWES

OK, I know I'm gonna get beat up for that...but all that happened throughout the course of this night? My wife and I got bombed on accident cause we were that bored. We were upstairs where there was fancy seating and love couches in the theater...and we were sitting and drinkin' and kissin' during the second half. I don't know...they were just like....ugggg....type boring. Maybe we caught the wrong show but we were relieved to get outta that one

I love the Black Crowes! I haven't seen them in concert, though. But their music is sexy, MP, which is probably why you and your wife had a good makeout session.

I did go to a concert back in 1979, where I almost got trampled to death. There was so much commotion and carnage at this concert it was hard to enjoy (Once the band started playing). I would have to say The Who, back in 1979 should have given everyone a free show and refunded our money.........

I don't know. All I know is, it was like dudes just standing there. Maybe we weren't close enough. It was at The Aragon Ballroom in Chicago

I did go to a concert back in 1979, where I almost got trampled to death. There was so much commotion and carnage at this concert it was hard to enjoy (Once the band started playing). I would have to say The Who, back in 1979 should have given everyone a free show and refunded our money.........

The next show after that Who tragedy was in Buffalo, NY which I attended. The show was phenomenal (one of the best shows I ever attended) but that said I was still in high school & it took a lot of convincing for my parents & my friend's dad to allow us to go. The main reason why were allowed to go was because the show in Buffalo was not a general admission concert. My dad & I were always real close but he did hate the fact that I loved rock music so I was surprised he allowed me to go! Those general admission shows were scary as my first concert (Kiss) was General Admission & that was out of control.

I'll have to think what shows I want my money back for

Pretty short list for me...the only concert I felt cheated attending was "The Cars" on the Panorama support tour. They looked totally disinterested except for the keyboard player and Benjamin Orr, but considering how highly thought of they were and how quickly the show sold out the concert was a let down. The consensus among us was they "phoned it in" and I get the fact Ocasek is all about being totally cool 100% of the time, if that's the case they should never have bothered touring at all.

The Who -Quadrophenia

The show wasn't advertised as Quadrophenia,but as a Greatest Hits show.I wanted to see The Who,not a bunch of actors running around on stage singing.This was back in 1990s

Gridlock...

Pretty short list for me...the only concert I felt cheated attending was "The Cars" on the Panorama support tour. Ditto. In hindsight, their material isn't really conducive for stretching or improvising on stage. Back then, I thought I could have stayed home and listened to the albums to save money. I just didn't get the vibe or the energy too.

Rush -Roll the Bones tour. I only went to this because it was a birthday present from my sister who somehow didn't realise that I hadn't liked a Rush album for about 10 years at the time of that show. That made it worse because I couldn't leave early and couldn't even point out why it was so disappointing compared to the other Rush shows I had seen. I wanted to leave the memory of their shows untarnished by really bad albums but couldn't. The next worse thing was when I saw Skynard for free (2000 maybe). But that wasn't as bad because we were able to sneak in and out several times so just spent the night walking around the inner harbor.

Loverboy, back in like 1998 or so ... Mike Reno was struggling to sing all night. I think he might have made it through 5 or 6 songs before every member of the band did some kind of solo. At that point, one of the other band members apologized that Mike had completely lost his voice and they said "if there is anyone out there that thinks they can take over the rest of the gig, raise your hand now"... of course a whole bunch of guys raise their hands. They picked out some guy that looked like he belonged in a rock band, pulled him up on stage and he finished the show. Of course, he knew every lyric to every song and actually did a decent job.

We knew the guys in the opening band, so after the show, we got to go back stage, yapped with the guys from Loverboy (sans Reno) and it was as I suspected, Mike had been struggling for a few days (or weeks) and they had a plant in the audience just in case he couldn't finish the show.



It was still a fun concert, but not the same without Mike on vocals. There as a form that we filled out after the show that the promoters had announced in case anyone wanted their money back. I filled it out, yet we never heard from them, never got our money back. :mad
