Greg Kihn‘s 13th-annual annual Kihncert will feature Bret Michaels as a headliner. The one-day music festival, founded more than a decade ago by Kihn, has become a classic-rock tradition that has included artists like Kansas, Lynyrd Skynyrd, REO Speedwagon, Boston and the Who in the past.

This year’s event (which is produced by the students of ARTTEC) will take place between noon and 11 p.m. on Oct. 12 in Morgan Hill, Calif. (just south of San Jose), where, in addition to the Poison frontman, the Greg Kihn Band, the Tubes, Dada and others are scheduled to perform. Dozens of food trucks and art vendors will also be on hand for the festivities.

Tickets are already on sale, and the prices are crazy cheap: $15 in advance or $20 at the door. Check out the Kihncert site for the full concert lineup, FAQs and other event details.

I wish I lived out there. I would like to see Greg Kihn as he released some good records back in the day but his stuff is tough to find on CD. I liked his Glass House Rock album which I bought back in the 70's because he covered the Yardbirds "For Your Love"(he also covered Gene Pitney's "Man who Shot the Liberty Valance" on it). Still my favorite is "Rockihnroll" with the Break up Song. I just checked Amazon & I can buy the digital d/l for $8.99 or I can continue with my scratchy vinyl(that record went to several parties!) But I will not buy a used CD from Amazon for $198.00!
