^^Yep my older brother had a black light, insence burning and psychedelic art all over the walls.

One album cover that I loved was my gatefold of a rare Graeme Edge/Gurvitz brothers vinyl, "Paradise Ballroom" when you opened it up it had artists renditions of all three with their hair linked together with stars and galaxies and cool space stuff. Wished I'd kept it the CD just doesn't cut it when it comes to art.:nw:

It was 40 years ago today (Sept 2, 1971) that band manager, Lenny Hart, was arrested for embezzling approx. $70,000 dollars from Grateful Dead.

Lenny, also father to drummer of the band (Mickey Hart), disappeared in March of 1970 with the cash. Lenny was later found in San Diego, CA living as a preacher named Rev. Lenny B. Hart.

Mickey Hart left Grateful Dead in February 1971, embarrassed over the ordeal, but later rejoined the band in 1975.

^^Great minds think alike, I am posting my newest GD album in here.:D

Didn't know the history behind the Hart's family troubles, but that isn't the first time someone has conned their family and friends for a quick buck.:nw:

Anyway, picked up this beauty two days ago, I wonder if Groovy likes this one...:hm:

Happy Birthday to Mickey Hart!

September 11, 1943

Bill Kreutzman and Mickey Hart / The Rhythm Devils

"Mickey Hart is best known for his nearly three decades as an integral part of an extraordinary expedition into the soul and spirit of music, disguised as the rock and roll band the Grateful Dead. As half of the percussion tandem known as the Rhythm Devils, Mickey and Bill Kreutzmann transcended the conventions of rock drumming. Their extended polyrhythmic excursions were highlights of Grateful Dead shows, introducing the band’s audience to an ever-growing arsenal of percussion instruments from around the world. Exposure to these exotic sounds fueled Mickey’s desire to learn about the various cultures that produced them."

I guess they're lucky that's all they found!!

Maybe, they ate the other psychedelic evidence, before they kicked the door down...:heheh:

^ Garrett, I'm not sure about any musicians, but I see Grateful Dead mangers, Danny Rifkin & Rock Scully sitting on the steps between Kreutzmann and Phil Lesh...

Unless, I'm missing someone....?
