Run a poll - should CRF have a chatroom?

I'm not sure if there enough regulars yet? To get the ball rolling could have a set meeting time everyday sometime in the evening or could start a new thread - anyone wanna chat and then at so and so time?

I would definately use the chatroom, but only if certain times are set up.

A "musicians forum" would be cool for those of us who play the classics, such as posting orignal and covered works along with questions of technique. I think just having dicussions over the decades of rock will go stale after a while...

This is a bit more random but i think that the top right hand corner lacks a few of the great symbols of early rock such as black sabbaths prince of darkness.
if its posibble, which i dont think it would be with what you have, symbols as decor in relation to each forum would also be cool (such as the dream theater thing and rush star man for prog)

The color is also rather revolting. I know several other V-boards that allow you to change the color. If this is an applicable option it would be quite appreciated by my eyes.

having mods that will answer questions or give reponse to improvement ideas is cool too.

...as a former AOL chat room host, the room should be hosted so that the "great unwashed" can't come in and destroy the chat or no one will come... as a suggestion, you could appoint people to have host capabilities and everyone else would just have member privileges...the chat should not be open to the entire internet, just to members....the host would have the capability of "booting" an unruly or undesirable member to keep the chat running as smoothly as possible....it should have some sort of "7 dirty words" feature to ensure that younger members couldnt get stupid, and older ones restrained from uttering things in front of children.... ....the room could open up for chat if one or more of the people that you host-enable are online, IF THEY WANT TO OPEN IT....from experience, it is almost impossible to get users to commit to a set schedule and actually BE THERE...we all have the best intentions..but follow-thru leaves a lot to be desired.... they aren't getting paid (or with aol, a free account), so the chances of them sticking to the schedule are slim to none and i just saw slim boarding a greyhound bus bound for tuscaloosa, alabama.....i would certainly be willing to spend some time in the room hosting, as my personal schedule would allow....would be certainly willing to go into the subject with you further if think you want to follow through with the room....

i hadn't read the preceding posts... if you can get dedicated hosts for certain hours, that would be great, but i think having several people being chat-enabled would also be beneficial...i sit here multi-tasking a lot at night, so i could certainly keep a room running as i am able to give the time....i think others would probably be able to do the same... but some guaranteed chat times would definitely be good in addition to the as-available chats...the main page could feature some sort of banner/flashing sign showing that the room was available....you could also have the "great unwashed" IN the room to lurk (watch) but have no member privileges ie: talk in the room....
