I know Jan Akkerman is a legendary guitar slinger and was really important to the development of the bands sound MP, but the guy they have now Menno Gootjes is incredible as well ,, superb musician.

Was never a big fan of their's, for some reason I just never got into them. The only vinyl album I bought was "Focus con Proby", and was underwhelmed. I do know Jan Akkerman and Thijs Van Leer by reputation though. Maybe I'll give them another chance.

Recommend the one singular album above all others you would use to convert someone to the Focus cause...

Great band, Niels Van Der Steenhoven is a fantastic guitar player and Thijs is always very entertaining. The last couple of years saw them live a few times, very good band live. Thijs, I met and spoke with him a bit on occasion, a very approachable character. The song is frequently played on their tours.

I think they are my favourite band from Holland EF. Just a fantastic outfit IMO.
