Yeah you're right. But for some of her later stuff, it's hard to think of a Mac show without You Make Lovin' Fun, Songbird, Oh Daddy...I mean lots of 'em.
Fleetwood Mac had two choices (1) Don't bother at all because Christine McVie didn't want to tour (2) Play some great shows/ record an LP with what they had left. What they had left was one of the tightest most intuitive rhythm sections in the world, topped off by Buckingham and Nicks, two of the greatest melodic rock/ AOR writers there ever was.
Why is it so hard to think of a Mac show that includes the likes of Go Your Own Way, Gold Dust Woman, Dreams, Rhiannon, The Chain, Tusk, Landslide, Gypsy, Big Love, Seven Wonders and Don't Stop (because Buckingham co-sung that final song anyway)?
I love this forum and I'm not talking directly about you Metalpriest, but IMO some of the views expressed about returning or reforming groups are a little glass is half full and grounded in "nothing other than the original line up will do".
Same thing with the VH reunion. Instead of concentrating on the positive, being that Dave and Eddie had reunited and were firing on all cylinders, much of the talk concentrated on the missing Michael Anthony backing vocals, which strangely no one bothered to marvel at during their active years when the focus was rightly on Eddie's fingers and Dave's charismatic delivery.
Should VH not have bothered at all either, because that was unthinkable? I mean literally just not bothered at all?
Should Sabbath call it a day and cancel "13" because Bill Ward has quit the party?
We only get one life, so I'll take whatever VH, Sabbath and Mac have to offer, whether that's viewed as somehow incomplete is someone else's problem and I just don't get it.
