After doing backing vocals for Epica, Kamelot & others (as well as filling in for Simone in Epica on tour a couple years ago) and some solo work, Amanda Sommerville finally did a true metal album as Trillium.

She has an awesome voice!

Thanks Ar-P :)

A couple of these have been mentioned in their official threads, but I thought I'd reiterate here.

New albums from some female fronted bands:

Tristania-Darkest White (out now). Still pushing the envelope and still sounding great.

Sirenia-Perils Of The Deep Blue (July 9). Ailyn really turns up the vocals here.

Edenbridge-The Bonding (July 16) This is the band's 8th album, but the first recorded with an actual orchestra.

Seduce The Heaven-Field Of Dreams (out now via their website. This track features a guest growler from the band Furor.

Some good stuff there A-P.

Tristania-Darkest White (out now). Still pushing the envelope and still sounding great.

Excellent album. Unlike many fans, I actually prefer the two latest albums with Mariangela, who I rate much higher than Vibeke. My favourite song on this album is "Requim".

Sirenia-Perils Of The Deep Blue (July 9). Ailyn really turns up the vocals here.

This song is one of my favourite songs this year, in ANY genre. The video is also excellent. Ailyn's vocals have imrpoved immensely and the album is probably my fave alongside "Nine Destinies and a Downfall", which has been my fave so far, mainly due to Monika.

Edenbridge-The Bonding (July 16) This is the band's 8th album, but the first recorded with an actual orchestra.

Like with the other two bands, I've been a fan since the debut. I don't think their songs are as memorable as on their first couple of albums anymore, but it's a great album - their best in a while - and definitely their best sounding. You just can't deny the difference between a real orchestra and a "can orchestra".

Nuclear Death, the first Death Metal-Grincore band with a female fronting them.

The late Dawn Crosby (ex-Détente) during her Fear of God days.

Hellion with former Runaways bassist (supposedly) Ann Boleyn on vocals.

Out of Sweden Ice Age, who unfortunately never released an album just various demo's between 1985-1990.

California Thrash legends Sentinel Beast.

Chicago Speed-Thrash veterans Znowhite.

^ That makes the least sense of all their videos, but it has Elize in a pool, so it's all good.
