It has to start somewhere
It has to start sometime
What better place than here
What better time than now?
~ Guerilla Radio,. Rage Against the Machine ...

And from The Haunting (Somewhere In Time) by Kamelot

I was a liar in every debate
I drew the forces that fueled your hate

But I like these parts mainly because of the song/the moment in the song.

Freedom Rider
(Winwood/Capaldi)

When lightning strikes you to the bone,
you turn around, you're all alone
By the time you hear that siren sound,
then your soul is in the lost and found

Joe Jackson ~ Stepping out

Now...
The mist across the window hides the lines
But nothing hides the colour of the lights that shineElectricity so fine
Look and dry your eyes
We...
So tired of all the darkness in our lives
With no more angry words to say
Can come alive
Get into a car and drive
To the other side

Me babe, steppin out
Into the night
Into the light
You babe, steppin out
Into the night
Into the light

We...
Are young but getting old before our time
We'll leave the T.V. and the radio behind
Don't you wonder what we'll find
Steppin out tonight

You...
Can dress in pink and blue just like a child
And in a yellow taxi turn to me and smile
We'll be there in just a while
If you follow me

Me babe, steppin out
Into the night
Into the light
You babe, steppin out
Into the night
Into the light

We're just two lost souls swimming in a fish bowl,
year after year,
running over the same old ground. What have we found?

The same old fears,
wish you were here.

This one is kind of a downer but still true in many ways.

Dreams are given to you when you’re young enough to dream them
before they can do you any harm.
They don’t start to hurt, until you try to hold on to them after seeing how they really are.

Sounds better in the song- Drive-By-Truckers

This one's a real winner. Ever so poignant, yet decadent too:

Don't Forget to Dance - Kinks

"You look out of your window,
Into the night.
Could be rain, could be snow,
But it cant feel as cold as youre feeling inside.

And all of you friends are either married, vanished,
Or just left alone.
But thats no reason to just stop living.
Thats no excuse to just give in to a sad and lonely heart.

Dont forget to dance, no, no, no,
Dont forget to smile.
Dont forget to dance, no, no, no,
Forget it for a while.

Cause darling, darling,
I bet you danced a good one in your time.
And if this were a party
I'd really make sure the next one would be mine.
Yes, you with the broken heart.

....

You walk down the street
And all the young punks whistle at you.
A nice bit of old,
Just goes to show what you can achieve
With the right attitude.
As you pass them by
They whisper their remarks one to another,
And you give them the eye
Even though you know that you could be their mother.
You do the thing you love the most.
What separates you from the rest,
And what you love to do the most?
And when they ask me how you dance,
I say that you dance real close.

....

Something I always thought was just uber clever was the Beatles' "I Call Your Name"

I call your name, but you're not there,
Was I to blame for being unfair?
I can't sleep at night since you've been gone,
But I never weep at night, I can't go on

I can't sleep at night, but just the same,
I never weep at night, I call your name

I mean, it's not like some change your life message or anything, I just think the little fake outs are clever.

A Criminal Mind - Gowan

"You see my hands are steady
You've seen my face before
Soon you can take your last look
And they'll close the door
I stand accused before you
I have no tears to cry
And you will never break me
Till the day I die

A criminal mind
Is all I
All I've ever known
They tried to reform me
But I'm made of cold stone
My criminal mind
Is all I
All I've ever had
Ask one who's known me
If I'm really so bad...
I am.

I've spent my life behind these steel bars
I've paid my debt in time
But being brought to justice
That was my only crime
I don't regret a single action
I'd do the same again
These prison walls secure me
And I'm numb to pain

Before you hand me over
Before you read my sentence
I'd like to say a few words
Here in my own defense...
Some people struggle daily
They struggle with their conscience
Till the end
I have no guilt to haunt me
I feel no wrong intent

A criminal mind
Is all I
All I've ever known
Dont' try to reform me
Couse I'm made of cold stone
My criminal mind
Is all I've ever had
Ask one who's known me
If I'm really so bad...
I am.

I'm made of cold stone
Just like your prison walls
A criminal mind
I am.
