Here's another one of my favorites, Roger Miller's "King of the Road".

That's a surprise to hear someone mention the song "Hey Bulldog" by the Beatles. It's always been an obscure song that very seldom gets talked about and has ALWAYS been a fav of mine.Nice call Stepcousin....:pullhair:

keep those model subway trains running - watch the closing doors.

It's alway high on my list of favorite songs. In fact, side one of Yellow Submarine is all great stuff.

Probably the coolest song from the 60s that could be well received in todays
music is "96 tears" from ? & the mysterians..It has that garage band sound as well as hitting your soul.:cheers2

what's yours ??

watch the closing doors :heheh:

Aerozep3207, you're kind of a jerk for starting this thread. Just sayin'.

Please know that I kid....................or do I?

I don't even know where to start. This is like picking my favorite pepperoni from a pizza with double pepperoni! Of course, like pepperoni, some songs go better with shrooms. Especially songs from the 60s.

Stepcousin gave a great suggestion with Bulldog and Lord Grendel....damn him....had two more great examples with Good Vibrations and King of the Road (it makes me think of my dad...damn LG again), but I have some serious commitment issue when it comes to this topic! There's a whole bunch of dance floor, but there are too many people dancing on it!

I'm gonna have to get back with you.

Ah, man, I dunno... The 60's... I guess I'll have to go with I Me Mine... Though it's probably gonna change in the next five minutes.

I'm not deeply familiar with the 60s, I listen to only few of bands from this period. Mostly the tracks are only those very popular. However I want to give the #1 spot to Hungarian band Omega, their song "Gyonghaju Lany" from 1969 is in my opinion an underrated masterpiece of the 60s.

Between my left and right speakers...
For some reason, THE song I've always personally associated with the '60's was "Turn! Turn! Turn!" by The Byrds. "Purple Haze" would be the other. Picking one song would be an excercise in futility. So damn many...
