Old Dude
I do not suffer fools gladly.
Speaking of 60's songs, does anyone here remember a 60's-ish song called "Once Upon A Time" ('that little girl was mine..........')? I'm wondering who sang it. Apparently, it is a very popular song title, after trying to Google it. Still, I could not find the 60's version that was popular, for a while. I first guessed it was The Fortunes, but after checking out their discography, I guess it wasn't them. Thx in advance for any help!
This is the first hit recording of the song.
It was a manufactured hit from the Brill Building, written by Gerry Goffin and Carole King. Carol King did the original demo version.
It was also covered by the Beatles and Dion and the Belmonts.
I had to look up Smokie. They're a Brit pop band that started in the 60's, and is still performing.
